I am a licensed mental health counselor for individuals and families that are managing issues that prevent them from living their most fulfilling lives. I strive to create a therapeutic space in which people feel safe to be vulnerable and affirmed in their experiences. My specialties include anxiety, depression, early intervention for psychosis, young adults and adolescents, cultural identity issues. I also work with people who are dealing with life transitions and other challenges. My approach is eclectic and dependent on the individual and families’ needs and strengths but I am grounded in cultural responsiveness and values centered. I use Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.

Over the years, I have worked to support families and individuals in outpatient, research settings and through in-home services. After spending my undergraduate years in Greensboro, North Carolina, I moved to Boston for graduate school at Northeastern University where I earned a MS in Counseling Psychology. I have years of experience working alongside families and young adults of various backgrounds to develop strategies that improve functioning in all areas of their lives including relationships, school/career and work. I am currently a staff clinician at the CEDAR Clinic and Research Programs where I have gained valuable experience in assessing and treating psychosis spectrum symptoms and co-occurring mental heath diagnoses. My personal and professional experiences have deepened my commitment to providing culturally responsive therapy that instills hope and helps empower people to make positive changes.
