As a therapist, I work collaboratively with clients to identify what we can do together to help them to feel better, to improve their overall health and well-being. Since every individual is unique, every treatment must be tailored to that person’s individual needs. Trust and mutual respect are crucial in building a strong therapeutic alliance so necessary to create positive change. My goal is to create a warm environment, with directness, and humor, in which a client can explore concerns, develop increased insight, and move toward personal growth. I earned my Masters in Social work from Boston University. Since then I have worked in a community agency, working with school programs, adoption, and mental health. For the past many years I have been working at a major Medical Center providing outpatient psychotherapy. I believe that communicating openly with another empathic human being, expressing our fears and concerns and feeling accepted is in itself therapeutic. It is from that place that we can dare to practice some cognitive and behavioral changes. I find it a privilege to be invited into another person’s experience and to try to help them achieve a more satisfying life.
