How do I know if I have insurance for mental health services?

As of 2008, all health insurance companies are required to provide coverage for mental health services (therapy, psychopharmacology, counseling etc.) at the same level as health services (primary care physicians, dermatologists, orthopedists etc.). Call the number on the back of your insurance card to find out more information about your individual plan.


How do I know if my insurance is accepted?

Our clinicians at Insight Psychotherapy accept most major insurance plans. Check the profile page of the clinician you are seeking services from and see what payment options are available.


What is a copay?

A copay is the out-of-pocket cost that your insurance provider requires you pay at each appointment.


What is a deductible?

Oftentimes, health insurances require their members to spend a certain amount of money out of pocket before they will provide payments to your providers. For example, if you have a $500.00 deductible, you will have to cover the full cost of the appointment until your out of pocket cost reaches $500.00 at which point your insurance will provide payment.


I paid my copay at the time of my visit, why do I have a bill for my session when I have health insurance?

If the provider you are seeing accepts your health insurance, check with the insurance company to see if you have a deductible that you are responsible for until they will begin paying for your sessions. The copay you paid at the time of your appointment is still due at the beginning of the session and may not contribute to the total out-of-pocket cost that is required by your insurance company. Call your insurance company to find out if you have a deductible and if your copays contribute to it.

Do you have night and weekend hours?

What happens if I miss an appointment?

Insight Psychotherapy requires a 24-hour cancellation notice in order for the missed payment fee to be waived. The fee is equal to the full cost of the appointment and is not covered by insurance. You can view and download our No-show and Cancellation Policy here.


Do you offer home visits?

Home visits can be arranged upon request. Check with your provider for details.


I just sent an appointment request to a clinician. How long will it be before I receive a response?

You should receive a response within 48 hours of submitting a request for services.
