I am a licensed independent clinical social worker who works with individuals. I work primarily with adults and elders. I feel drawn to working with people who feel disoriented within their own lives, and feel disconnected from themselves and others. These kinds of feelings can be profoundly lonely and confusing, leaving the person grasping for a sense of direction where there seemingly is none. My hope is to work with my clients in both a directive and collaborative way to help them effectively regain a greater sense of orientation within their own lives and to discover the meaning behind their struggles.

My approach is psychodynamic, but my practice also draws upon other modalities, including mind-body practices, trauma-informed therapy, CBT, and narrative therapy. The therapeutic setting I create is one in which spiritual, religious, and existential issues are not to be dismissed, but, at the request of the client, integrated into the treatment of the whole person. My areas of experience and interest include, but are not limited to, trauma-related disorders, depersonalization/derealization disorder, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, questioning of religious identity, sex/pornography addiction, ACOA, and adjustment related disorders.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Tufts University with a major in Religious Studies. Following that I earned a Masters in Social Work at Boston College and went on to complete a fellowship training at The Albert and Jessie Danielsen Institute at Boston University. At the Danielsen Institute I offered both brief and longer-term psychodynamic therapy to a culturally and religiously diverse population. My time working in outpatient at Riverside Community Care echoes the experiences I garnered via the Danielsen Institute, while broadening my exposure to, and ability to work with, crisis management.
